Welcome to Ghana R Users Community!
The Ghana R Users Community was incorporated into the Registrar of Companies on 31st May 2022 in Ghana, RegNo. CG031100522. It is an offshoot of the Accra R User Group founded in 2016 and revived in 2019. It was started by a group of data analysts and statisticians who were passionate about R software. It is now the main platform for all R User groups in Ghana.
To provide a platform for R software enthusiasts and coordinate City R User Communities.
To bring together individuals who are interested in using R software for data analysis, providing them with opportunities to learn, collaborate, and grow. We also strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports the creation of City R User Communities. Through various events, resources, and networking opportunities, we aim to promote the use of R in Ghana to solve real-world problems and drive innovation in data science.

The Ghana R Users Community is an offshoot of Accra R User group started by Amit Kohli with the Accra inaugural R-session of Wednesday April 13, 2016. It did not sustain itself. It was revived in 2019 by Francis Mensah and Samuel Tandoh. Ghana R Users Community was born on May 31st, 2022 when it was incorporated into the Registrar of Companies in Ghana, RegNo. CG031100522, with Dr Paul A Agbodza, Francis Mensah and Samuel Tandoh as main directors. Ghana R Users Community was founded based on the need for a national core group that will in turn support the creation of City User groups. The legal and monetary requirements for establishing a Not-For-Profit organization in Ghana were challenging, so a national R User platform can be used as a bootstrap for creating smaller R User groups until they can be incorporated as independent entities.
